Summer Term

In Literacy we are learning to retell stories, reading and writing simple poems and using non-fiction books. We are buliding words with long vowel sounds and continuing to learn to read and write our key words.
In Maths we are learning to find totals of money, to order numbers, to find ten more and ten less than a number.
We have been measuring capacity and making symmetrical patterns.

In Science we are learning about growing plants and minibeasts. We are growing our own beans and keeping bean diaries to record how our bean has changed.
In I.C.T. we learn how to collect information and make a pictogram from that information.

In History we learn about seaside holidays in the past. We talk about our own holidays and look at pictures and photos of what people used to do on their holidays in the past.
In Geography we follow the adventures of Barnaby Bear as he travels aroud the U.K. We learn the names of new places and find out what it is like to visit these places.

In Art we are looking at sculptures and have been making our own sculptures. The pictures is of some animal sculptures that we have made.
In R.E. we learn about journeys. We talk about journeys that we have been on and think about special journeys that other people go on and why.
